History #8732

#8732 was originally purchased by my family in 1961.  The car was purchased for my mother and was her first car. The car was originally black with green interior, but shortly after it was purchased, was painted blue by Earl Scheib. The photos below range from 1962 to 1964.  It was 1965 when unknowingly #8732 had its oil pan broken and was driven until the engine gave out. From then until the early 80's, the car sat virtually untouched.  In about 1982, my father started rebuilding the damaged engine and restored it to it's original condition.  Through the 80's and 90's, the car was slowly worked on, but it was never put back on the road.  It wasn't until August 2003 that I brought the car to my home and started a complete tear down.   I marked the official completion of the restoration June of 2013.  After a 10 year family project the car is finally back on the road and attending several events a year.  The car has received much praise for the work we have done.  We have received a hand full of 1st place trophies, including first in class three times at the Forest Grove Concours D' Elegance, and twice receiving Best in Show at other events.
